A Star for the Window

The 57th story in the Falling Into College series by Richard Lobinske. The story occurs during late January 2002.

Summary

Karen's boyfriend, Derek, receives news that his National Guard unit will be deployed for active duty. Meanwhile, Jane and Nell are again competing in the Boston Ice Tea party. Derek withdraws from classes and changes his student status to inactive and also must find someone to sublet his apartment, since his landlord won't let him break the lease.

In Broken Star, it is revealed that Derek and Karen were married during the events of this episode.
