Chris and Sam Griffin

Youngest brother of Sandi Griffin, with Sam the middle brother. Described in The Daria Database as: 10 student, brat. Likes to pound his brother back, pick at scabs (anyone's) and watch things drop. Plans to someday marry Quinn.

Name Origins

Sam and Chris Griffin are named for Sam Johnson and Chris Marcil, who wrote the following episodes: "College Bored," "The Big House," "The New Kid," "Depth Takes a Holiday," and "Speedtrapped."

Conjecture

Chris Griffin's name predates the popularity of the Seth McFarlane animated comedy Family Guy. The son of Peter Griffin in Family Guy is named Chris Griffin. Sandi Griffin's younger brother might be given a different name if the show were created today, or at least some reference would be made to his sharing a name with a cartoon character -- particular one like the Family Guy Chris Griffin, who is portrayed as an overweight moron.
