"Esteem Roller" is an [[alternate universe|AU]] story by [[legendeld]] that is based on two changes to the canon [[Dariaverse]]: [[Quinn]] as a Straight Edge skateboarder, and Daria with a shattered sense of self-worth after her revenge fantasy writings were discovered and dealt with in a harsh zero-tolerance way at [[Highland High]]. The tale follows the sisters through their first year at [[Lawndale High]] as Quinn holds to a Straight Edge lifestyle and Daria tries to rebuild herself after being subjected to mind torture and brainwashing. Notable additions were Judy Rowe as Stacy’s single mother, who bonds with Daria and provides a helpful adult for Daria to interact with, and Michael Morgendorffer as an infant brother who unfailingly tries to nurse on any available woman.
