"Esteem Roller" is an [[alternate universe|AU]] story by [[legendeld]] that is based on two changes to the canon [[Dariaverse]]: [[Quinn]] as a Straight Edge skateboarder, and Daria with a shattered sense of self-worth after her revenge fantasy writings were discovered and dealt with in a harsh zero-tolerance way at [[Highland High]]. The tale follows the sisters through their first year at [[Lawndale High]] as Quinn holds to a Straight Edge lifestyle and Daria tries to rebuild herself after being subjected to mind torture and brainwashing. Notable additions were Judy Rowe as Stacy’s[[Stacy]]’s single mother, who bonds with Daria and provides a helpful adult for Daria to interact with, and Michael Morgendorffer as an infant brother who unfailingly tries to nurse on any available woman.
