==Timeline headaches==
The Super Bowl is generally held in January or February. However, the ''following'' episode [[Sappy Anniversary#Timeline headaches|may be taking place in November or December]], and either way it's apparently colder in that episode than in this one. Just to confuse matters further, a tax referendum in the US would generally be held in November general elections: did the first two minutes of this episode take place over a two month period and "Sappy Anniversayr" actually fits ''within'' this one??
In a surprisingly ''handy'' bit of chronology, the Super Bowl is on the 30th in this episode - it was held on the 30th in 2000. Some ''Daria'' fanfics have Daria graduating in 2000, allowing for this and the dotcom satire of [[Buzzdome.com]].
Jodie refers to conflict in Chechnya and talks about it being "independent". The Second Chechen War ended in May 2000 with Russia retaking control of Chechnya, so if that's what she's talking about then this has to take place earlier. However, her phrasing is that conflicts there "will certainly not be resolved in a period of months", which fits the post-war insurgency better, which places this around the airing date... when Chechnya was no longer independent. (Maybe Jodie's a supporter of the Chechen seperatists?)
==Geography headaches==
Lawndale is in a state where the governor had to hold a public referendum before he can raise the taxes. Glenn Eicher, writer of this very episode, has said in interviews that he viewed Lawndale as being in a Mid-Atlantic state, possibly Maryland (and the state governor shown does resemble Maryland's [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parris_Glendening Governor Glendening]); however, none of those states vote on whether their taxes go up.
''California'' voters do this though, and in 2000 (when this episode was written) there were [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_California_ballot_propositions_2000%E2%80%932009#March_7.2C_2000 two school-related tax propositions that were voted down].
==Trivia==
Li boasts about being "fourth runner-up for Principal of the Year by the tri-county chapter of the Asian-American Women in Education's Caucus" (which she got by forcing students to phonme up the Caucus).
