In a surprisingly ''handy'' bit of chronology, the Super Bowl is on the 30th in this episode - it was held on the 30th in 2000. Some ''Daria'' fanfics have Daria graduating in 2000, allowing for this and the dotcom satire of [[Buzzdome.com]].
Jodie refers to conflict in Chechnya and talks about it being "independent". The Second Chechen War ended in May 2000 with Russia retaking control of Chechnya, so if that's what she's talking about then this has to take place earlier. However, her phrasing is that conflicts there "will certainly not be resolved in a period of months", which fits the post-war insurgency better, which places this around the airing date... when Chechnya was no longer independent. (Maybe Jodie's a supporter of the Chechen seperatists?)
