Has It Fallen Yet?

Has It Fallen Yet is an essay by Caira, written in 2000 between Dye! Dye! My Darling and Is It Fall Yet?.

This was written to argue against the development of the romantic plots at all, describing the fandom as split between people "loving the new episodes" and those "aghast at the romance in what was once a show above all that"; Caira takes the second approach, arguing that The Kiss is too cliche and the sort of thing lesser shows would do, when Daria was originally something else. They also argue that the fans approving of this storyline want "a realistic show about a believable, if unusually cynical, growing character", when Daria has never been a realistic show.
