This summer represented a major test of [[Daria]]'s and [[Jane Lane\|Jane's]]'s friendship, following [[Tom Sloane]]'s pulling the "friend switch," once having been Jane's boyfriend and then being with Daria. The episode found Jane going to an[[Ashfield]], and artists' colony with college students, wherein her commitment to her own ideals and her commitment to being not gay, were tested.
