When Quinn began to feel ''genuinely'' attracted to David, it proved that there is more depth to Quinn's personality than just the running "superficial" gag that had carried on throughout much of the series. Her newfound intellect as a result of David's tutoring also separates Quinn from the rest of the Fashion Club. The film also sees the first time ever in which Quinn stands up for herself against Sandi. During Mr. DeMartino's history class, Sandi insults Quinn after she gave a detailed answer on Manifest Destiny (an answer Quinn learned from David's tutoring). When Quinn fires back, Sandi is taken off-guard, as this is the first time Quinn has ever directly challenged her authority in the Fashion Club. This trend continues in the fifth season, in the episode "[[Fat Like Me]]", when Quinn and the other Fashion Club members challenge Sandi on her Fashion Club guidelines.
