As part of her 'Alliance' training, Maryann can use her powers in different ways than usually expected from Academy students with similiar powers. For example, she can rapidly project energy pulses as well as beams from her eyes, each pulse as powerful as a single beam, to do greater damage to a target. She can also fly at super-speed at a target, changing over to invulnerability at the last instant and allowing her velocity and invulnerable form to do massive damage.

Like all members of The Alliance, Maryann wears a 'team jacket' that is lined with [[Salazarium]]. This jacket provides her with the ability to fly, as well as having a special environmental-field emitter that allows her to survive in hostile environments (underwater, in space, etc.) while using other powers besides her invulnerability. The jacket also provides a microceiver that allows her to stay in contact with the other members of the group.
