My Night at Daria's: Difference between revisions

One of the major plot points of the fifth season is the relationship between Daria and Tom. We see their relationship build in episodes such as "[[Sappy Anniversary]]" and "[[The Story of D]]", however the episode "My Night at Daria's" is the culmination of the character-building between Daria and Tom throughout the season; to the point where they are on the verge of being sexually active yet are unable to follow through with the commitment. However Daria's unwillingness to have sex is not indicative of a fracture in their relationship, as Tom assures Daria that it does not bother him. After this episode, things would fall off between the two rather quickly. Tom only has twothree brief speaking appearences in "[[Boxing Daria]]", and by "[[Is It College Yet?]]", their relationship declines rapidly and becomes irreconcilable (despite Daria and Tom ending on positive terms).
