New Model Year is the 3rd story in the John Lane series by Richard Lobinske and includes events mentioned in the episode "This Year's Model". Soon after Daria's 16th birthday, the Amazon Modeling Agency arrives with "complimentary" modeling classes. After a comment from John, Daria is chosen by Romonica Gregory to be on stage during the class in retaliation for her comments about the agency's scam.
