Rock N' Roll Randy is a classic rock DJ, notable for his appearance in "The Big House". He was a participant in an annual Faculty vs DJ roller hockey game at Lawndale High, and had developed a heated rivalry with Mr. DeMartino, having given him a heart attack in the previous year's game. The next year, Randy gets the upper hand again, using his hockey stick to hit DeMartino in the knee.
He is later seen being assaulted by Ms. Barch, who has him in a headlock and is simply punching him over and over while snarling "It's payback time, Randy!", to the cheers of all of those in attendance. It could be revenge for DeMartino (who she doesn't usually like) but sounds like a personal vendetta: it could be he was intended at the time to be her much-loathed ex-husband.
He would only make sporadic appearances afterwards, appearing in the background of "I Loathe a Parade" like pretty much every other one-shot character at the time (and in a romantic embrace with Dr. Shar, of all people). Despite this, he is one of the few one-shot characters to get an alter ego in the end credits.
He can be first seen in "Malled" riding a trolley.
He introduced MTV's "Oh, the Obscurity!" flipbook: "I rockingly rose from the ranks of background character to kick ass in the faculty/disc jockey ice hockey game in "The Big House," which goes to show that you gotta believe in your dreams, just like John Cougar Mellencamp."
