Line 3: The story begins with [[Jake Morgendorffer\|Jake]] drives [[Daria Morgendorffer\|Daria]] and [[Quinn Morgendorffer\|Quinn]] to their new school in [[Lawndale]], similar to the opening of "[[Esteemsters]]". While Jake drives, Daria thinks back on the time she spent at Hope High after being sentenced under a "zero-tolerance" policy ~~after~~for taking a pistol away from [[Beavis and Butt-head]]. There, she was quickly bullied and had to learn how to physically fight back. After she witnessed the death of a fellow student, she was finally released after a successful lawsuit filed by her parents. The story ends with meeting [[Tom Sloane]] at the entrance to [[Fielding Preparatory Academy]].
