What she doesn't know is that the clinic unethically caused the fertilized egg to divide numerous times, creating identical twins of Daria that were implanted in other women across the United States—and her clones are making many of the same life choices she is. Because of her father's promiscuous habits, Jane Lane too has near-clones of herself, half-sisters appearing for some reason in the same areas where the cloned Darias appear.
