Plot Summary

During a staff meeting and later parent-teacher conferences, the inner monolouge of Lawndale High's art teacher, Claire Defoe reveals the teacher's dissatisfaction with the path her life has taken. During her conference with Jake Morgendorffer about his daughters, she indicates a part of what keeps her teaching- the few students who show promise. The story ends with a bit of hope- Claire now has the drive to take on another Community College class that brings her far more satisfaction.
