The Daria Database was the second official Daria paperback book. It was written by Peggy Nicoll and published by MTV Books and Pocket Books in November 1998. It is currently out of print.

The book is similar to Beavis and Butt-Heads EnSUCKlopedia, most notably in that everything in the book is in alphabetical order and there are little notes at the top half commenting on the articles.
Line 7:
This book followed The Daria Diaries, and was published in the same year. The in-universe gimmick is that Daria is compiling a computer database of the people she knows.

TheBoth the look and& age of Kevin's parents actuallyand DeMartino choking Kevin appeared in Database first and then subsequently appeared in season 4 of the show, when Nicoll had become story editor. Mack's hidden bitterness about his life, introduced in this book, would be a running gag on the MTV Daria websites.

Affects on Fanfiction
The Daria Diaries as well as The Daria Database have provided additional information and different perspectives on characters and canon events that many authors have used and expanded upon. These background tidbits range from Claire Defoe's over-populated studio apartment to Daria having a prison pen-pal. Some characters exclusive to the book, such as Danny Moreno, Rachel Landon and Andrea's brother Damien, have also turned up. It has also furthered the trope of the Lane's being poverty-stricken and their parents being "benignly" neglectful, as the book shows the house to be a mess and the parents often absent.
