Background
The Unflappable Jane Lane's release came shortly after the release of Wild's ninth Driven Wild Universe story, Outvoted. Wild wrote this essay, in part, to express the frustration she felt about working with Jane in a starring role when the show, to that point, had presented her as little more than Daria's "unflappable" sidekick.
