Uranium in the Drinking Water

Summary

As a result of radioactive contamination in the drinking water at Highland, Daria was born looking like a fairy, being only a few inches tall and possessing insect-like wings, though her personality remains the same. She also speaks in blank verse (unrhymed iambic pentameter), as do the fairies in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

"Uranium in the Drinking Water" covers the same territory as the first episode of the series, "Esteemsters," with the events changed to reflect Daria's new physique.

Winner of "Favorite Supernatural or Fantasy Non-Horror" story in the 3rd Daria Fanworks Awards.
