Proposals

Categories & Organisation

  • I'm proposing six meta categories:
    • Administrative: To hold categories like Stubs and administrative pages as their need develops.
    • Fandom: To hold categories such as Authors, Fan Sites, Famous/Infamous Fandom Members (and former members) and similar
      • Clarification The categories in this one would be about the fandom itself, members of the fandom, fan resources like Outpost Daria and fan projects like DVDaria
    • Fanworks: To hold categories such as Series, Stories, Fanfiction Characters and Fanfiction Locations
      • Clarification: This would be the area for information on actual fanworks, characters and locations in them not from canon (or altered from canon)
    • Canon: To hold categories such as Canon Characters and Canon Locations

Categories & Organisation Discussion

  • Space set aside for discussing this proposal
  • The only two I have a problem with is Fanworks and Fandom as to me they seem a little nitpicky about what goes in each category. The names almost seem interchangeable with the example categories you listed for them. If you could expand a little on what defines the two for me please. Staren

  • thank you, that clears it up nicely. I thought that was were you where headed, but wasn't sure. That should work very well. Staren

Guidelines

I'm proposing that we need to establish Guidelines for what information is appropriate in articles under the various categories and what the appropriate layout of those articles should be. (this one isn't finished yet)

Guidelines Discussion

  • Agreed. We need to sit down and hash out a list guidelines rather then cleaning up as we go. Perhaps we should get the meta categories established (mainly Administration) and get as organized as we can, then start getting that information together in the Help namespace where it can be added to individual categories as needed.
