You Want It Darker is a 2019 post-canon fanfic by LongSnakeMoan, spinning off from Catching Up With The Daria Gang.
Fans had joked for two years about how Jane Lane looked old in her "Catching" picture and like she'd been hit bad by drugs. LongSnakeMoan took that joke and played it grimly straight, depicting Jane in the aftermath of a shattering addiction.
Jane's ex-boyfriend here is Todd Ianuzzi, nodding to her previous story "Of All The People That Won't Be Missed".
