Jane Lane's mum, artist specialising mainly in ceramic sculptures, not often seen, more or less an opposite of Helen, indicated in Lane Miserables by Jane's comment when asked by Helen if they have any rules at the Lane house, that "There is the one about not building fires in rooms that don't have fireplaces."
