Her mutant psi-abilities manifested when she reached the age of eight (in her mother’s side of the family, there is a history of powers in the female members of the family, and of manifesting well before puberty, even though they are mutants). With her parents’ help, Chi Ling quickly learned what her powers were and gained basic control over them.
