Fanfiction authors tend to use [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepperdine_University Pepperdine University] in Malibu, California, as a template for Pepperhill, such as in [[Richard Lobinske]]'s [[Falling Into College]] series. (In that series, the student newspaper is known, appropriately as [[The Peppermill]].)
