Many years before, [[Dr.Doctor Doom|Dr.Doctor Doom's]] mother attempted to control Mephisto to overthrow the despotic governementgovernment of Latveria and failed, leading to her imprisonment in Hell. The drive to rescue his mother was one of the major forces in Dr.Doctor Doom's life.
