The Misery Chick: Difference between revisions

Former Lawndale High football star [[Tommy Sherman]] returns to have a goal post named in his honor. He meets [[Brittany Taylor]], whom he propositions; [[Kevin Thompson]] and [[Mack Mackenzie]], whom he insults; and [[Daria]] and [[Jane]] who return his contempt. In reply to Daria, whose scorn is especially withering, Tommy Sherman calls her "one of those misery chicks, always moping about what a cruel world it is." He then leaves them for the official naming of the goal post, which collapses on him and kills him. Immediately afterward, Daria finds herself the object of much unwanted attention for her insights on what are variously categorized by others as into "the dark side of life" ([[Timothy O'Neill]]) and "depressing stuff." (Kevin Thompson) Chafing at this misperceptionmis-perception, Daria tries several times to speak to Jane, who avoids her.
