Welcome to the Dariahouse

Welcome to the Dariahouse is an essay by CF, comparing Daria to the 1995 black comedy film Welcome to the Dollhouse.

CF notes the two share a number of similarities - outcast loner girl leads with bad relationships with their parents and crushes on older guitar-playing boys - and their differences, and whether it's likely Daria was inspired by Dollhouse. He argues it's impossible as "Sealed with a Kick" was produced before Dollhouse was on general release in America, though there's a slim possibility Trent Lane is based on the Steve Rodgers plot (though he doubts it).
