Black Saturday
Not to be confused with the various real-world Black Saturdays.
Black Saturday is the name used to refer to the nuclear exchange between the United States and China at the beginning of Doggieboy's serial fic-in-progress Apocalyptic Daria. The term was first used during a radio broadcast by the U.S. military to inform citizens on the East Coast of ongoing military operations in the aftermath of the nuclear attacks and the resulting civil unrest.

- Cleveland, Ohio
- Jacksonville, Florida (confirmed in Apocalyptic Daria: Brave New World, due to the presence of Jacksonville Naval Air Station and the Mayport Naval Station)
- Saint Louis, Missouri (the city's destruction was confirmed in Apocalyptic Daria:Scarlett's Tale)
- New York City (was hit by a low-yield weapon, a neutron bomb or the weapon suffered a 'fizzle', as reports indicate that the primary damage was confined to the Bronx, and that damage is not as severe as that suffered by other cities attacked)
