Orlando Dariacon 2008

The Orlando Dariacon 2008 is planned to be the first major gathering of Daria fans. The goal of the con is to have as many Daria fans meet in person as possible, not simply across the United States but across the world, making it the most ambitious meeting of its type.

Less than three miles from Orlando International Airport and easy access to the Orlando area attractions and an easy day trip to the Atlantic or Gulf coast beaches.

As of December 2007, available room rates were US$89 for a double room or a single ADA accessible or US$96 for a single with king size bed.

External trips to a beach and other tourist destinations probable.

Otherwise, we'll probably just keep things loose.

Several people have suggested lengthening the convention, or at least their time in Florida, to allow them to hang out and do the other things that they want to do.

Road/Rail Trip

A group of conventioneers including Deref, MartinUK, RedlegRick, HelpfulSkittlesExplosion, Kinetic Booger and others are planning a road/rail trip, starting in Boston MA and traveling through NYC, to get to Florida for the convention. The intention is to collect conventioneers along the way and to have as much fun getting there are as being there. Details will be posted as they're developed. Currently the consensus seems to be to travel by rail from Boston to NYC and from there (or farther south) to rent a people mover and drive the rest of the way.
