Saving Hope is an alternate reality story by Richard Lobinske inspired the idea of Daria attending Hope High School, the alternative discipline facility in Highland.

The story begins with Jake drives Daria and Quinn to their new school in Lawndale, similar to the opening of "Esteemsters".

While Jake drives, Daria thinks back on the time she spent at Hope High after being sentenced under a "zero-tolerance" policy for taking a pistol away from Beavis and Butt-head. There, she was quickly bullied and had to learn how to physically fight back. After she witnessed the death of a fellow student, she was finally released after a successful lawsuit filed by her parents.

The story ends with meeting Tom Sloane at the entrance to Fielding Preparatory Academy.
