Background

Amy: Savior or Chimera? was among the earliest of many writings that Wild used to poke holes in the Saint Amy image. At the time it came out, the notion that Amy was not Daria's automatic ally was not widely accepted.

Using evidence from "I Don't" and "Through a Lens Darkly," Wild points out how distant the relationship between Daria and Amy really is.
