Fairly Illuminated is the 14th story in the John Lane series by Richard Lobinske and includes events mentioned in the episode "Fair Enough".

After Jodie's less than successful visit to Grove Hills and Jake's refusal to even consider sending Daria away to school, combined with simmering annoyance at some of Daria's columns in the Lawndale Lowdown, Ms. Li makes sure that there are "special options" for some students in the upcoming medieval fair. To avoid a transfer to the yearbook staff, Daria agrees to be volunteered to sell reproduction manuscript pages that John produces at the fair.
