Plot Spoilers[edit]

Charles gets to fly in a special Quest military plane known as the Gridrunner. The plane can fly at speeds over Mach 6, and in a conversation with Kyle Armalin, Armalin tells Chuck that if he progresses he has a chance of flying the plane.

The Gridrunner is on its way to The Outlast. Sandi discusses with Quinn the preparations she has made for the Outlast, and allows herself to daydream about a future Senior Prom and formal Legion ball.

A man known only as Betty prepares for the Legion's arrival at The Outlast, given instructions to teleport the Legion out if things go wrong.

Armalin tries to have a friendly chat with Tiffany, who asks Armalin why he isn't dating and asks if he's gay. He seeks retreat in a conversation with Daria Morgendorffer. He supplies Daria with a "Mark 10" calming mechanism to replace her blood-pressure monitor and indicates that Daria has "loosened up" slightly since he initially met her.

The Legionnaires are then briefed on their exercise, called a "metahuman asset acclimation and compatibility screening scenario", or "MHAACS". The Legionnaires will be given more information...after they land....
