Fizz Ed
"Fizz Ed" was the first episode of the fifth and last season of Daria. It first aired on MTV on February 19, 2001.

Summary
This episode concerned a soda company's purchasing advertising space, and more, at Lawndale High. Daria attempts to fight it, with mixed results.
Fan Reaction
The fan reaction to this episode existed along 2 lines. One, the episode was highly similar to a prominent fanfic. (Leading the author to do a post on Outpost Daria, which he said was a hoke, wherein he claimed he was going to be suing the Daria team.( Two, in some quarters the episode drew unfavorable comparisons to This Year's Model. Daria's more realistic reaction in Fizz Ed, to circumstances that were not dissimilar, didn't sit well with some.
