Summary
Hilarity ensues when Daria, seeking to get out of mother/daughter therapy with Helen, ends up filling in for Quinn at a babysitting gig, for the annoying Gupty family. Daria ends up seeking to "reprogram" their annoyingly obedient children, with the help of Jane. These efforts seem to prove successful, and provide Daria with the basis of a paper for Anthony DeMartino's class. "The original research," Mr. DeMartino tells Daria, "was thought-provoking. Though considered a FELONY in SOME STATES!!!" Years later, however, (see I Loathe a Parade), Daria's work appears to have been largely undone, and the children are back in their previous state.
“Pinch Sitter” and Fanfic
Richard Lobinske merged the events of "Pinch Sitter" with "Too Cute" in the John Lane story "Sitting Cute".
The Gupty family shows up in fanfic on occasion, usually with Daria's work on the Gupty children "sticking" to a greater degree than it did on the show.
